Powerful Words & Kindness Counts!

In Writer's Workshop, students pulled back out the mentor text Come On, Rain! With a partner students went through the text and recorded several examples of nouns, verbs, adjectives, and similes. Afterwards we gathered again for partners to share some of their examples. 

Lastly students recorded their favorite verbs and adjectives on a sheet they will keep in their binders as a resource during writing. 

In Health students listened to the book Don't Laugh at Me. 

This is such a touching story from the point of view from children who feel different and the importance of kindness, not staring, and of course not laughing at others.
