Today was certainly an interesting day coming back to school after being off for two days. At least the class was able to celebrate Halloween!
This morning, in Writer's Workshop students edited their narratives. They were given an editing check list and a blue editing pen. If they finished before snack time they were to switch papers with a buddy and peer edit.
Students learned about puns through a Howl-o-ween Puns: Toadily Eerie-sistible packet. The riddles and multiple choice pun answers were all Halloween-based. While some of the play on word sayings were unfamiliar to students, such as 'have your cake and eat it too,' it was fun for them to think creatively and to learn about some common sayings.
