Rockin' Responsibilities - During the first couple days of school, students completed job applications of which two jobs they would be best at.  Additionally they had to include a summary of why they would be a good candidate and which job they would not want.  At the beginning of each trimester students will refill out another application and jobs will switch.

Here is the Math Workshop board.  The Trumpets, Violins, and Drums rotate through each station.

During Math Workshop, students pick up their game materials here.

Our Class Rocks bulletin board.

During math students learned how to make circles with a compass.

Students were treated to finishing their science lesson outside!  On Friday, students started filling in a chart in their science notebook, by making predictions about which objects would float or sink.  While outside on Monday, groups dropped each object into the tank of water to see if it actually would float or sink. Afterwards they completed the chart by recording which objects floated and which objects sank.  Lastly, students compared their predictions against what actually happened.

During Reader's Workshop, students shared the characteristics of an easy book.
Example on the board:

They then picked a book from a stack I put on the front table that I knew would be too easy for them.  They read the book, then wrote their thoughts.
