I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!
First we watched the Google Doodle video...ADORABLE!
Then the class became very competitive trying to create as many words as they could using the letters from VALENTINE'S DAY.
We loved Leah's heart hairdo!
In Writer's Workshop, we reviewed the six-traits of writing.
Then we focused the mini-lesson on word choice; particularly adding or replacing descriptive adjectives and verbs. Students, first helped me revise some of my words, before revising their own stories. Our revising technique for word choice is drawing a cloud around what we are changing.
